Forgive My Recall by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Forgive My Recall

I promise to never pick up
My bad memories

I’m sad to address I was blessed
With a bad memory

Remembering thorns more than petals
Has earned me more medals

I never requested your tears
I fear that this rain never settles

I pledge to prevent disappointment
By bringing about my old ways

You teach me and I comprehend
That love helps forgive and repent

I must have my heart behind haze
Obstructed by anger misplaced

But every fog clears with some faith

Your smiles and your kisses
Your voice and best wishes
Will lead me to the correct place

A heaven besides you awaits

Your beauty and love
And the way that you raise me
Above ecstasy
I plan to preserve and to praise

I love you
For coloring all of my ways
