Over the Water by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Over the Water

The ripples, they disturb
They lie about direction
A dragonfly is carried
On water with a curved reflection

This is my yearning for you
Reverberating in me
The wind, the sun, the dust
Conspiring to be

And then there's calm
Right after rain
A flattened surface
I dip my palm in vain

Are you the lake
Inside my heart?
Are you the daylight?
Am I awake, falling apart?

Over the water
I will float to sea
A dragonfly, a trout
And closer I'll bring you to me
