The Far by Ivan Guerrero Najera

The Far

If I could reach as far
As sight can see, or maybe less
Away near a distant star
And fade into the darkness

No longer judged, approved
Beyond the strain of this
Of all that I would miss
With everything removed

And ponder nothing more
As stars glitter and shine
Feelings of heart and mind
Abandon thoughts galore

An emptiness instead
Void of the burdens in my head
Lacking the fear and dread
Floating and falling to forget

Forgotten like an infant scar
And its memory, past tense
And nothing left to mar
Returning to essence

To the distant, the remote, the far
