Daily Litter by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Daily Litter

Another day closer to nil
I woke up early, the forest still
The sun is fading
The leaves collapse
And time attempts upon my will

I would if I just could, today
Take a less-traveled way
But this routine is baiting
A fear of change, perhaps
Its snake-like rhythm a lull and sway

All is as I suspected
A wheel, a clock connected
By minutes aiding
The passing of these lucid naps
Chasing the id, I'm introspected

The days are floating dust bunnies
Under the sky, a bed the sun is
Masquerading
To help me feign memory traps
As I lose every day I'm bound to miss

A death will then arrive to aspirate
Every last bit I've managed to create
I'm left here waiting
The task a time and space eclipse
Prolonged as I procrastinate
