Great Expectations by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Great Expectations

All expectations are hard to please
They stand so faint and distant

Like a mirage, they taunt and tease

Like clouds that vanish in an instant

You've been above that from the start
I know you'd stand by me through all

You have my word, my love, my heart
You have my arms to brace your fall

The hope that fuels our drive is low
And running out quite fast

I know you've put aside your life
Since you became my wife
And given up much of your past

I want to let you know today
That you are priceless to my heart
And precious in a million ways

You've earned that and much more
Right from the start

Please be my Valentine, Bibi
Be what you are, which is just all
For all of you is all I need
And I'll be here to heed your call
