Half Full by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Half Full

It’s the little things
That leave the biggest mark
If pigs had wings
And cats could bark

If all the trips and falls
That carry you forward
Were nothing but calls
To grow the mind onward

A gift on a random day
A kiss not following tears
To smile with nothing to say
Feeling certain after all these years

It’s knowing to eat the wafer
When the ice cream is gone
It’s saving yourself to save her
Without knowing if you’re the one

The glass had to be made of glass
And your eyes wide open
Full or empty, what it has
Must never be just spoken

The world just comes at you
And finds you fumbling like a fool
Without permission, mind you
Is that half full?
