If crossing leads you to the other side
What's more to risk upon arriving there
Why not be haste and fasten pace of stride
What's there to fear, to seem punctual and fair
Is it because the other side is lost
To the unknown, like finding cold when bare
Might you find debt of the ultimate cost
When you jump in, eyes closed into the dark
Or am I just a pessimist like most
The crossing in itself may leave a mark
I ask myself with hope that I unhide
Legitimate concerns, not light but stark
To cover with my speed the gap, if wide
If crossing leads you to the other side
