Winter Gray by Ivan Guerrero Najera

Winter Gray

The ice inside my head is melting
To refreeze into black
The scale weighing my soul is tilting
I hesitate to take some choices back

Decisions of the past
They freeze under the pressure
Of time and memory, a cast
Into a mood, into a trauma treasure

Winter is gray under my stare
I only ask for what is fair
I lack the spectrum of true fire
Of joy, fulfillment, angst and ire

The winds just freeze away
The rain is ice
The winter gray
The stars are lies

The moon hangs far from here
The sun a dimmed illusion
I’m lost from all that’s dear
Stuck in conclusion

Come help me out of this
My true desire
Help me escape monotony
Reveal the higher

I long for paradise
For truth ideal
I’m tired of all wise
The world, it turns just like a wheel
